Range Rules
- Wear Eye and Ear Protection: Always wear appropriate safety gear to protect your eyes and ears.
- Keep Guns Unloaded Until Ready to Use: Load your firearm only when you are on the firing line and the range is declared “hot” and ready for shooting.
- Never Point the Gun at Anything You Do Not Intend to Shoot: Maintain muzzle discipline by keeping firearms pointed downrange or in a safe direction at all times.
- Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until Ready to Shoot: Only place your finger on the trigger when you are aimed at your target and ready to fire.
- Know Your Target and What is Beyond It: Always be aware of your target, and ensure there is an adequate backstop. Be mindful of potential over-penetration or missed shots.
- Use Firearms and Ammunition Suitable for the Range: Only use guns and ammo that are permitted on the range, ensuring they are safe and appropriate for your shooting environment.
- Do Not Handle Firearms During a Ceasefire: When a ceasefire is called, step back from the firing line, and do not touch or handle any firearms.
- Follow Range Officer Instructions: Always adhere to the commands and signals given by the range officer or the personnel in charge.
- Report Unsafe Behavior: Immediately inform range staff if you observe unsafe handling or behavior.
- Keep the Range Clean: Pick up used shells, casings, and any debris related to your shooting to maintain a clean and safe environment.
